CHARLIE PHILLIPS Unfolding Issue #2 is a self-published zine.

“Unfolding is a group of collaborative associates who execute their passion for photography through the discipline of photojournalism, reportage, press photography, and documentary storytelling. It is defined by our visibility to combat the world seen through the lens of a single socioeconomic group. We endeavour to forge and solidify new paths driven by equitable access for the next generation of passionate photographers.”

Charlie Phillips

Charlie Phillips is arguably one of the most pivotal photographers of the 20th Century who documented London’s changes after the Windrush Generation came to Britain. Yet still, his work has been overlooked.

This particular series was shown at Photofusion Gallery in 2014 and will be shown in the main space at The Centre for British Photography. The hope is that the exhibition and Unfolding Zine will open up Charlie’s work to a new audience and that he is finally given the plaudits that he deserves.
