Description

GUEORGUI TCHEREDNITCHENKO The Long Way Home

When the time came to return home, after six years spent in Japan, Gueorgui wanted to keep his feet on the ground. Therefore, a twelve-hour flight became a two months journey. The Long Way Home includes photographs taken throughout the summer of 2017.

“Living on the other side of the planet from one’s family means that life is punctuated by long-distance air travel, creating two home areas separated by what is, in essence, a long time spent in a seat, high up in the sky. The vast spaces in between become a blur: clouds, fields, mountain ranges, and forests, lost in a haze far below.”

Gueorgui Tcherednitchenko is a French-Russian photographer. Currently based in London, after six years spent living in Japan, he is studying MA Photography at Royal College of Art.
