Description
Ilford Washaid 1L
Ilford Washaid is a hypo-eliminator formulated to aid the removal of the thiosulphate by-products of fixation by ion exchange.
Simply put, it can be used to aid in the rapid washing of black and white films. This will help to save you both time and water. It is also particularly useful for speeding up the washing of fibre based papers and is designed to be used with the Ilford optimum permanence sequences.
It is particularly beneficial if a hardening fixer has been used.
How To Use
To prepare your Washaid, dilute 1+4. That means one part Washaid to four parts water. The dilution is the same for both paper and film processing. Make sure you mix together thoroughly before use.
When processing film, use the diluted Washaid for 2 to 3 minutes. Washing the film in fresh running water for 1 minute before and 5 minutes after. When using with Fibre Based papers, leave your prints in the Washaid for 10 minutes. Washing them for 5 minutes before, and 20 minutes after, in fresh running water.
