Kodak Rapid Selenium Toner is a liquid concentrate toner offering a convenient, simple and effective way to create a selenium toned look to your prints.

Designed for tray toning, and it will work with all resin coated and traditional fibre based black-and-white photographic papers.

Not only can selenium toning enhance the look of a print, but it also helps increases print permanence. It will improve archival stability and reduced fading, making it ideal for preserving precious images that will be on continuous display. Use the 1+20 dilution for archival print protection.

Prints that are toned in a selenium toner generally benefit from higher density and contrast. Warmtone papers being particularly responsive to selenium. The degree of toning can be varied by changing the toning time or solution dilution.

When used as a colour toner it can produce a range of colours. Several cool chocolate-brown hues are attainable with warm-tone papers, purplish brown tones with neutral-tone papers. Expect very little or no change with cold-tone papers.

Kodak Rapid Selenium Toner is a ready-to-use toner which you can dilute either 1+20 or 1+40.

How To Use

To prepare your selenium for normal toning, dilute Kodak Rapid Selenium Toner 1+3. That means one part selenium to three parts water. Where the primary reason is for protection of the image, with minimal tone change, dilute 1+20 with water. So one part selenium to twenty parts water. Make sure you mix together thoroughly before use.

Please note that this product is toxic if swallowed. Keep away from food and drink. Avoid contact with skin. Wear suitable gloves and eye/face protection. Keep locked up and out of reach of children. Do not empty into drains, dispose of this material and its container at hazardous or special waste collection point.
