Description

Japan Camera Hunter JCH StreetPan 400 35mm Film 36 Exposures

JCH StreetPan 400 is a high speed, fine grain black and white film. It is a unique film that Japan Camera Hunter has made available. Not a re-spool of a current film, this is a previously unavailable film that has been brought back to life by Bellamy Hunt (aka Japan Camera Hunter).

It is a highly versatile film which will work well in variable conditions and low light. It will also produce negatives which are easy to scan.

An old surveillance film that was originally made by AGFA. Japan Camera Hunter has now had it put back into production. His intention is to fill the hole left by the loss of Fuji Neopan 400. Thus, it has been chosen for its similar characteristics. This is a freshly made emulsion, put back into production specifically for JCH StreetPan.

You can expose JCH film between 200 and 500 ISO. JCH StreetPan is also available in 120 format and as a disposable film camera.

2 reviews for Japan Camera Hunter JCH StreetPan 400 35mm Film 36 Exposures

  1. Ray Rapkerg

This is a great film. Yes, it’s expensive, but it is a boutique product. It is based on Agfa film, and Agfa films were always really high quality. It is not a mild film, it’s quite aggro. You could say that if some other films are a bit Easy Listening, this is a bit Punk. The contrast is higher than most films, and the tonality is definitely punchy. Anything close to black will be rendered black, giving that classic analog punchy look. To avoid this becoming too severe, take care not to over-develop this film. Or just go for it and enjoy the in-yer-face results!

  2. Parallax Photographic Coop

StreetPan 400 has a reasonably fine grain, with a gritty, distinctive look. It holds the mid-tones and highlights very well. However, it does lose definition in the shadows. If you keep this in mind you can get some pretty dramatic images.
