It is defined by our visibility to combat the world seen through the lens of a single socioeconomic group. We endeavour to forge and solidify new paths driven by equitable access for the next generation of passionate photographers.”

Tam Joseph

Tam Joseph, born in Dominica in 1947, is without doubt an accomplished painter, illustrator, graphic artist, printmaker and sculptor. Joseph came to London at the age of eight and studied the Foundation Course at the Central School of Art London in 1967, followed by the BA in Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Art but quit the Course after a few months and began his 1960s whirlwind nomadic tour of Europe, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan Pakistan & India.

20 years later, he continued his journey of instruction and discovery in Africa, where he has visited Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Togo and Senegal. The eclectic spirit of the Bohemian has played a definitive role in Joseph’s multifaceted exploration of contemporary realities, exploring the many inspirations, aspirations, and contradictions that shape those realities. Joseph’s work is often figurative, personal, ephemeral and idiosyncratic, with a surrealistic take on life as he sees it.
