Kodak Ektar 100 120 Film Review
Here is our Kodak Ektar 100 120 Film Review. We shot a roll of Kodak Ektar in our Fuji GA645i. So, have a look at our film test and see what you think.
A firm favourite of film photographers, Ektar is one of Kodak’s professional range of colour films. It’s a 100 ISO speed film, with some of the finest grain around. We put a roll of medium format in our Fuji GA645i and took it around Brixton.
The first thing we notice is the colour. Very true to life for the most part, and vivid in bright sunlight. We thought it picked up green, red and blue well in our shots. It’s a medium contrast film, with a neutral to warm tone. It also has a bit more saturation in comparison to Kodak Portra.
Great Detail
You really do get fine grain with this film, particularly as it’s medium format. Also, we were impressed with the great detail in both the shadows and the highlights.
This is a very versatile film, and will work well for a variety of subjects. Often used by landscape photographers for the fine grain and accurate colours. But, it is also good for portraits and general shooting.
If you’re looking for a pro standard film with bright colours and lots of detail, then Ektar is definitely one to try.
