GUILLAUME SIMONEAU Experimental Lake is a compendium of images inspired by the dual principle of common good and necessary evil.

Canadian photographer Guillaume Simoneau explores a place far removed from our everyday vanities: the Experimental Lakes Area in the sparsely populated region of northwestern Ontario. But rather than a book about the 58 pristine lakes that comprise this world-renowned natural laboratory, Simoneau’s allusive photographs use the freshwater site as a means to look outwards. To consider a world beyond our own reflections. Guillaume Simoneau began his independent studies in photography after completing a diploma in applied science. His renowned body of work Love and War was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and published by Dewi Lewis Publishing. The publication was shortlisted for both the First Book Award and European Publishers Award for Photography. His new work entitled Experimental Lake is the subject of his second book, published by MACK and a forthcoming exhibition at the Stephen Bulger Gallery in Canada.
