Harman Switch Azure 125 Film Review
Here is our Harman Switch Azure 125 Film Review. We shot a roll in our Contax G2. So, take a look at our film review and see what you think.
Harman continue their journey into colour film with their latest release: Switch Azure 125. This experimental film produces striking, “switched” colours, blues turn orange, yellows shift to vibrant azure, and reds take on purple and blue tones.
A new film? Of course we had to try it. For this review, we loaded a roll into our Contax G2 and headed out around South London.
Playful and Creative
Switch Azure is a fun, playful, and creative film, somewhat reminiscent of Lomochrome Turquoise, designed to deliver unusual, eye-catching results. It didn’t disappoint. Skies glow orange, whites take on pink hues, and skin tones shift into shades of blue.
We found it worked best in strong, contrasty scenes, though there’s plenty of scope to experiment and create more otherworldly images in varied lighting. We rated the film at ISO 125 and shot on a bright, sunny day. It handled the light well, producing consistent colour shifts across the roll.
Continuing The Colour Journey
Shooting Switch Azure is as much about the anticipation as the results. While the colour shifts are bold, they’re also fairly consistent, meaning that with regular use, you can begin to predict how your images will transform.
Like all Harman colour films, sales of Switch Azure contribute to ongoing development. With each release, Harman continues to refine their colour process, something we’re keen to support.
If you’re drawn to experimental film, this is well worth a try. Pick up a roll and be part of the journey.
