Second Kodak Gold 200 Film Review
Here is our Second Kodak Gold 200 Film Review. We shot a roll of Kodak Gold in our Yashica T4 compact camera. So, have a look at our film test and see what you think.
Gold 200 sits in Kodak’s consumer range and is one of our most popular films, second only to Ultramax in recent times. The last time we shot Gold, it was the medium format version, and we were really pleased with the results. Seeing as it’s such a favourite, we decided to load up a roll of 35mm for another go. So, for our Second Kodak Gold 200 Film Review, we put a roll through the Yashica T4 and took it out around Walthamstow Wetlands.
This film proved a great match for a sunny late afternoon. Gold is known for its warm tones, and it didn’t disappoint. It captured the sunlight on the trees and grass beautifully, with pleasing blues in the sky. There was a nice balance of detail in both highlights and shadows, with just the right amount of contrast.
We didn’t need to make any adjustments to the scans when we got them back from Photofusion. The images came out well exposed, with natural contrast and rich, accurate colour.
The warmth and richness of the tones really stand out. Considering this is 35mm, the level of detail and sharpness is impressive. It’s easy to see why Kodak Gold 200 remains such a favourite.
