Storage Bottles For Film Developing

Fixer and Stop bath can be used repeatedly once mixed up to a working dilution. It makes sense to buy some storage bottles to keep these in. They will be ready to use the next time you process film. Some developers, such as ID 11, can be used several times as well.

Chemical Storage Bottles come in a variety of sizes. We have 1L, 2.5L and 5L versions. It is best to get the size closest to the amount of liquid you have to store. Most photographic chemicals will oxidise when you store them over time. Oxidisation is caused by contact with the air. As this the main factor in chemical depletion, you want to get bottles that you will fill to the top. Thus, removing as much air from the container as possible. This is generally good practice when keeping chemicals, and it will mean you chemicals last longer, saving you money.
