Description
Washi S 50 120 Film
Washi S 50 120 Film is a 50 ISO black and white orthochromatic film. Film Washi S is a sound recording film used by motion picture professionals, giving you very fine grain and ultra-high definition.
Uniquely, on this sound film, the special anti-halation layer sits between the film’s base and emulsion layers. This is different from standard film, where this is normally at the back.
Washi S film is not completely red-sensitive. So this can have an effect on your results, and you can easily overexpose the sky. If you want to reduce the contrast, shoot in a softer, more diffuse light.
Also available in 35mm.
Develop Washi S
You can develop Washi S in standard black and white developers. Have a look at the Data Sheet for processing times.
Speciality Films
Washi Speciality Films are films that have been repurposed. Machine coated in factories, but are not designed for regular photography. For example, emulsions like motion picture sound or leader film. Or, not made to record visible light, like an X-ray film. Some others were manufactured for governmental or military uses, such as surveillance films. However, all these films can be hacked to use in artistic or fun ways. Washi have converted these film to standard formats so that you can go shoot them.
