Description
Ilford Ilfotec HC Film Developer 1L
Ilford Ilfotec HC is an economical and versatile liquid black and white developer. Ideal for use with a wide range of black and white films.
With Ilfotec HC you get a lot of developer for your money. As it is a high concentrate developer you have to dilute it to make a stock solution. Then, you further dilute the stock solution before you use it. There are several dilutions available to you, 1+15, 1+31 and 1+47 are the most useful for general applications. The degree of dilution will depend on the film and method of development.
Alongside the range of films you can develop, it is also a developer that you can use with various process systems. These include trays, small tanks, deep tanks, dip and dunk processors, rotary tube processors, continuous long leader processors, roller transport processors and short leader card processors. Do not use Ilfotec HC developer as replenisher.

How To Use
As it is a concentrate, you dilute it to make a stock solution first. A common dilution from stock is 1+31. So that is one part developer to thirty-one parts water. There are other dilutions available, these will give varying results. You can find more dilutions on the Technical Data Sheet. Always make sure you mix together thoroughly before use.
For some of the higher dilutions, this can mean measuring small amounts of the developer. Ilford recommends mixing up an initial stock solution of 1+3 to make measuring easier. When using this method please use the table on the Data Sheet for the correct ration of stock solution to water.
