Description

Ilford Ilfosol 3 Film Developer 500ml

Ilford Ilfosol 3 Film Developer is a liquid concentrate black and white developer.

Designed to exploit the full potential of traditional black and white film emulsions. Ilfosol 3 will deliver fine grain and optimal sharpness with film shot at box speed. Plus, it’s easy and convenient to use.

An economical film developer, perfect for developing small quantities of black and white film. Medium speed films, such as FP4 Plus and Delta 100, work particularly well in Ilfosol 3.

It’s a popular developer for beginners and longtime film shooters alike.

Typically Ilfosol 3 is used one-shot to get the highest image quality. For greater economy, it can be reused but image quality may be reduced. Pushing film is not recommended when using reused developers.

How To Use

As it is a concentrate, you dilute it to make a working solution. To prepare Ilford Ilfosol 3, dilute 1+9. That means one part developer to nine parts water. This is perfect for one-shot use. You can also dilute Ilfosol 3 1+14. So one part developer to fourteen parts water. Make sure you mix together thoroughly before use.

Common first developer when you’re getting into developing at home. My results with low speed (fine grain) films was very pleasing, but if you want to do anything at higher speeds you’ll find yourself quickly limited by this developer – especially if you want to push your film. That said, it does the job and is an excellent starting point for a journey into figuring out your perfect film stock/developer combination 🙂
