Description

Zone Imaging 510 Pyro Film Developer 100ml with 5ml Syringe

Zone Imaging 510 Pyro is an extremely fine-grained, high acutance film developer. With this long shelf-life, staining developer will give full film speed with most films. Uniquely, it is triple optimised for darkroom silver gelatine printing, alternative UV based printing and scanning. All with the same development time.

Go Grainless!

Although small, the 100ml bottle will develop between 30-100 35mm rolls. Plus, it has a 5+ year shelf life! Because you use extremely dilute working solutions – 1:100 to 1:500, this developer is also extremely economical. Plus, a syringe is included to make measurement easy.

You get razor-sharp and extremely fine-grain negatives. Most ISO 100 films go grainless! This developer will give you a very wide tonal range. Particularly in shadows and highlights

Pyro developer has the extra benefit of protection for your film from long-term damage. And, without any change to the development time, it will give results that will perfectly suit scanning, darkroom printing and UV printing processes.

510 Pyro is one of the more modern pyro developers, originally invented by the legendary Jay DeFehr. Equally good for developing by hand or in a rotary tank.

How To Use

510 Pyro is supplied as a liquid concentrate diluted for 1:100 one-shot use. However, you can dilute it further for economy. However this will reduce the image quality and give you longer development times.

Note: Do not use an acidic stop bath or hypo clear with 510 Pyro because they will destroy the stain. A water stop bath is instead recommended. This developer is not compatible with Bergger Pancro 400 due to the double emulsion.

Note: Please handle this developer with gloves and eye protection – health and safety should always be top priority when handling any chemicals. This developer is suitable for disposing of down a drain or septic tank because the ingredients are similar to those in soap/cosmetics or those that naturally occur in some fruit and vegetables. So, they will fully oxidise before reaching the septic tank.

This developer will permanently stain any surface including the skin.

For more information and developing times, check out the 510 Pyro Technical Info PDF.
